Building Rural Resiliency: Who Should Help? What Should They Do? is the first eXtension webinar coordinated by the EDEN Community of Practice this year. Dr. Virginia White, a specialist with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, says the webinar will feature recent research on who should be involved in the phases of disaster impacting rural areas and agricultural businesses.
Speaker Dr. Amy Dronberger is a program and staff development specialist with Oklahoma State University Extension. She will discuss what she learned about the perceptions of two groups of professionals, one agriculture-focused and the other disaster-focused.
The webinar will be moderated by Beverly Maltsberger, a professional and community development specialist at University of Missouri Extension. This free event is open to anyone, and may be of special interest to local governments, agencies involved in emergency operations planning, and Extension professionals. “We hope you will join us to learn what you can do in your communities to strengthen networks that support disaster preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery activities,” Maltsberger says.
